Antique Primitive Hand Carved & Painted Wood Doll Cradle

This is an antique primitive hand carved and painted wood doll cradle.
I am uncertain as to exactly how old it is, but I believe it dates from the late 19th century. Please use your judgment.
It measures 6 3/4 inches tall (17 cm). The top measures 19 inches wide x 8 3/4 inches long (48.2 cm x 22.2 cm). The legs are each 12 inches wide (30.5 cm).
I am sensing this piece was handmade by a father for his daughter. There are numerous different shaped nails and screws used to make it. It definitely has a very primitive feeling about it.
It has quite a bit of damage, though it is still a solid and sturdy piece.
On one of the sides, the three pieces of decoration in the middle are missing. On the other side, the middle piece was re-glued back on. The paint has mostly worn off the top edge. The legs both have some cracks.
The entire piece has a distressed look about it. Please use the photos as your guide.
