If you have been looking at Coherent 315M lasers  but not buying HERE is one to seriously consider. Very few 315M lasers were specially selected and tested by Coherent to earn the SL designation-this is one. Many 315M heads have second and even third lines but usually they are so small in power it makes NO difference for Holography. The SL tested lasers don't....even better!  Sam Goldwasser at Sam's Laser FAQ has tested more 315M lasers than anyone outside of the Coherent company and this is a good one. Using a custom rig he sets the lasers on the
conservative
side  diode current wise and
this
one he set to 112 mW, 114 mW fully warm running at around 85% max diode current. The heat sink is large, no fan is needed and has stand off to keep heat off the table surface. I mounted a liquid
crystal
thermometer
to the heat sink side to keep track. The controller has been built into a custom box with simple rocker switch, no LED's or power lights for holography use. New controller box and power supply.
