Description

Toddler Warming Dish ~ Little Boy Blue ~ Divided ~ Vintage ~ ca. 1940 ~ 1950's
Little Boy Blue come blow your horn. The sheep's in the meadow the cow's in the corn . . . . . remember those days long ago when your mom taught you how to properly eat your food? Little hands weren't well coordinated, but mom knew just what to do. Naturally, divide your food into little compartments, and when you reached the bottom there was Little Boy Blue, his horn or his hat, along with the sheep in the meadow
and
the cow in the corn. What a delight that was!
You can re-create that scene today for your little one. Offered here is a vintage divided warming/cooling dish. Made in the 1940's - 1950's, this dish is in exceptional condition with no chips, cracks, nicks or breaks. There is minimal crazing, which can be expected for a piece of ceramic 50 to 60 years old.
Unfortunately the rubber plugs used on either side have long ago deteriorated, but replacements can be found. Place hot water in the dish to keep food warm, or ice water to keep food cold.
Dimensions:
10" from handle edge to handle edge
8" from top to bottom
2 ½" overall height
1 ½" depth for food holding
In exceptional condition with no chips, cracks, nicks or breaks. There is minimal crazing, which can be expected for a piece of ceramic 50 to 60 years old.
Payment is expected within 3 days following close of auction.  If additional time is needed, please contact me and I will be most happy to accommodate any reasonable request.
Damages:
All items shipped with USPS or eBay Insurance will be sufficient to cover your purchase amount. We attempt to package all items with an abundance of packing materials to lessen the chance of damage; however, some damage may occur from time-to-time.  In the event your purchase arrives in a DAMAGED condition, it is YOUR responsibility to file the necessary insurance claim with USPS or eBay.  In the event I fail to place insurance on your shipment, I will promptly issue a full refund when proof of damage is received (photos will be sufficient.)
I attempt to describe all items with a reasonable degree of accuracy. I am not an expert at anything, but I will always attempt to describe my items with honesty and integrity. What is pictured is always exactly what you will get, nothing more, nothing less, unless otherwise described as such. I do examine all items and will describe any defects I may find. I provide detailed pictures, showing
every
aspect of the item you are bidding on.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do e-mail me.
If you have any questions or doubts concerning this auction, please do not place a bid before you send me an email.  I answer all inquiries promptly.  If I have failed to properly describe or disclose any issue(s) it is an oversight, certainly not intentional.  In such cases meaningful dialogue will result in an amicable resolution, including but not limited to a return
.

International Bidder Instructions – please read before bidding:
I
will not
report inaccurate values on the Custom's form - the actual purchase price will be reported as the value, no exceptions - Do not even ask !
Do not remit payment until an invoice is sent - only actual shipping is charged. The shipping cost shown in this listing is for Continental US DOMESTIC locations.  Shipments to Hawaii, Alaska and PR, will be calculated at the International rate.  All other International locations, please request cost estimates
BEFORE

Due to International Postal Regulations implemented in October, 2012, I am required to supply one of the following items on the Customs Form: your telephone number, fax number or e-mail address. eBay does not allow the sending of e-mail addresses between members. I have found that Paypal details disclose an e-mail address, so I will use that address for the customs form unless you advise me otherwise.
All International shipments will be sent Priority International Mail.
I post feedback for buyers once their feedback is posted for me.  This is my assurance that you are satisfied with your purchase and thus closes out our transaction.
Please see all items I have listed in this week's auction where you will find quality treasures!
Thanks and Good Luck!
PAYPAL is the only form of accepted payment and is expected within 3 calendar days of auction end. If you have not received an invoice within 12 hours of auction's end, please contact me since it is likely that something went astray with the original invoice. I usually send an invoice within an hour of ending.
Shipping charge stated in listing is only available within the Continental USA, (PR, Hawaii and Alaska are EXCLUDED.) Shipments to PR, Hawaii or Alaska will be considered as International Bidders, with shipping charges calculated accordingly.
Worldwide shipping is available on all auctions unless otherwise stated. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS SHOULD NOT REMIT PAYMENT UNTIL AN INVOICE IS SENT.
Unfortunately the US Postal Service has increased the parcel postal shipping rates in the last few years to the point that it appears usary.  However, I find that my flat shipping rate is often times less than my actual cost.  If I know that the item you are bidding on is more or less than usual, I will adjust the rate accordingly in the listing.
All sales are final.  No returns accepted unless I have made an error in the posting or have made a drastic error in the listing.  I am not an expert, and I don't present myself as such.  I do have many years experience and will ALWAYS describe the item as  accurately as possible.  I like to offer as many photographs as possible to give you the information to make a decision.  Keep in mind; the items I offer are used, often times antique or vintage, and as such the most often are not in pristine condition.  If they are, I will state that in the listing.  Buyers remorse is
never
a  reason for returns.
The Cajun Treasure Chest is the result of my many years spent on the highways and byways of this wonderful land we proudly call the USA. I have always been attracted to things from "the olden days." My preferred "rest stops" would most likely be a flea market, antique store or yard sale. Now that I'm semi-retired I have more time to devote to real treasure hunting. I could never have enough room to keep everything I find (especially at auctions and estate sales,) so I offer them here, for your pleasure and enjoyment. I especially enjoy returning to my ancestral roots in Acadiana (that wonderful area in Louisiana,) where I do find true treasures from the past. I will never knowingly offer any inferior item for purchase. It there is a defect or flaw in the item, I will try to capture it in a photo, and indicate such in my listing. I truly thank you for looking, and do hope you find something you like. If you are looking for something special or unique, send me an email. If I don't have it, I can look for it in the many sources at my disposal. My wife of over 42 years enjoys my "treasure hunting", not as much as I do; but she's the one who does the packaging, which is supurb (please read my feedback!) She is the reason your treasures arrive in one piece.
