Vintage Wood Doll Cradle / Crib - b
uilt by hand in 1979, redone by me in a rustic cottage design. My signature is on the bottom.
This cradle was pretty shabby when I bought it, but now that it is painted, it could be used to display dolls, teddy bears, a folded lap quilt or other small blanket, hold knitting supplies, use for holiday displays, etc.
I painted and distressed it even more than it
already
was, added the little hearts, made a removable insert of cardboard and fabric to cover the bottom, and sealed the wood well with varnish. Although it is sealed, I would not give it to a small child to play with because the wood is still a little rough.
Size: 17 x 17 x 12 inches, not including the rocker rails, which are 19 inches and 16.5 inches long (different sizes, for some reason.) Inside at the base measures 15.5 x 10.5 inches.
